SERVICES FOR SYSTEM SUPPLIERS AND INTEGRATORS
How can Trivion help system suppliers and integrators in project implementations?
We act as your Site Manager on your installation site and take responsibility for HSEQ on the installation site. We work as Site Managers in all countries, but we can provide most value for you on installation sites in Finland and Sweden as we speak the local languages and are fully aware of all relevant local legislation.
In some smaller installations, it may not be economically feasible to pay the travel costs if the installation work takes only a couple of days. Let Trivion do the installation while you can use your own resources on some larger scale installations.
Finding it difficult to allocate resources for your PLC-controls commissioning? Let Trivion help you. We can be your commissioning resource on site while your own engineering team can work with us from your office location. We can also help you with PLC-programming.
Do you need someone to manage your subsystem and integration testing on site? Or would you like to allocate your own resources to the next project instead of keeping your resources on site doing babysitting? Let Trivion work for you on site during the babysitting period.
Training your customer to be successful with the solution you have provided is essential to your business. Trivion can help you in your super user and end user trainings by providing the training in Finnish, Swedish or English language. Let Trivion help you in troubleshooting. We can reach the customer site before your plane even takes off. You need to support us on site but with instructions from you it’s highly likely that we get the problem solved or at least we can rule out several possible root causes making it faster for your own staff to continue troubleshooting on site.
You have the best knowledge and skills for maintaining your installed equipment. But in many cases spending lots of time travelling between the sites is not the most efficient way to utilize your knowledge and resources. SERVICES FOR LOGISTICS COMPANIES
How can Trivion help logistics companies to evaluate possibilities and benefits of warehouse automation in their operations?
Analyzing your operations and evaluating the benefits of warehouse automation for your operations. Possibilities to install warehouse automation to your current warehouse will also be analyzed. Alternatively requirements for a property being more compatible with warehouse automation can be defined.
How can Trivion help logistics companies who are planning to invest in warehouse automation?
Basic concept for warehouse automation can be done without analyzing your operational data in details. A short discussion and walk in your current warehouse will be enough to get initial concept or concept alternatives identified. But it will be your benefit to analyze your operational data as early as possible, it will save time and money in the long run. Different companies have different data available and we have experience in doing the analysis with the data you have available. All system suppliers will request you to provide them the operational data. Let Trivion help you in preparing this data package as we know which data is essential and which data is less critical. Don’t waste your time for collecting and preparing data which is not relevant.
Initial concept engineering will provide you good understanding of storage capacity and system performance. We recommend to ensure your capacity needs can be fulfilled before you contact the system suppliers.
Selecting the right system supplier for your project requires lots of working hours. In many organizations it’s been difficult to allocate resources for this workload as resources are scaled for managing daily operations. Let Trivion handle the tasks where you struggle to find time for them and where Trivion brings in knowledge and experience missing from your organization. Most common way to select the system supplier is to do it 3 phases. These phases are often called as RFI, RFP and RFQ. Typically an RFI (Request For Information) is sent to all relevant system suppliers. Trivion can help you in preparing the RFI material. More effort you put in creating the RFI material, the easier it will be for you to compare the answers from the system suppliers and choosing the right suppliers for the next phase. Next phase is RFP (Request For Price) where selected system suppliers are asked to provide budget price for their solution. This is maybe the most critical phase. We recommend you to specify very clearly what kind of price breakdown you want to have, what shall be included in the price, what shall be priced as options and what shall be excluded from the price. The better you prepare your RFP material, the easier it will be for you to compare the quotations and it will also reduce the workload from in the RFQ phase. The final phase is the RFQ (Request For Quotation) where you ask 2 or 3 suppliers to provide their final quotation and you typically choose 1-2 suppliers for contract negotiations. We recommend you to pay attention on contract terms already when choosing the suppliers for the RFQ phase.
How can Trivion help logistics companies in their project implementation?
Most often companies have very little if any previous experience in warehouse automation in their organization. Experienced project manager with sufficient application knowledge in warehouse automation can deliver significant value to your project. Trivion can take the project manager role in your implementation project or we can support you for example acting as steering group member.
When implementing warehouse automation system, you’ll have to choose between automation solution provider WMS and 3rd party WMS. Both alternatives have their own pros and cons and the right choice for you depends on several factors. Trivion will help you comparing the different options and choosing the solution which fits to your warehouse operations.
Your ERP/WMS needs to be integrated with your new warehouse automation solution. You may have adequate resources in your own organization or reliable external partner for the technical implementation of this system integration. However, implementing this integration with minimum amount of rework, you’ll need experience also in warehouse automation. Trivion can support you in your integration design and implementation. We bring additional knowledge to the process while being able to communicate and cooperate with your technical integration experts.
While your new warehouse automation system is being installed, you need to actively manage your installation site for enabling seamless progress of the system installation. Monitoring the progress and the quality of the works during the whole installation phase is also something you should allocate adequate resources for. Trivion provides you interim resources for these tasks.
The system supplier will provide initial set of test cases for the system testing. More you add your test cases to the test plan, the better the system is tested to handle different situations relevant to your business and your material flows. Trivion supports you in identifying the test cases and in writing the test cases. Common mistake we see is that one test case is actually a combination of multiple test cases. These test cases tend to increase the time needed for the testing and we have never seen a project with too much time available for testing.
Even the best test plan can deliver very little value if the test plan execution is not done properly. When testing warehouse automation systems, many test cases require lots of preparation work. Trivion helps you identifying what is required for executing the test cases, which test case sequence would be the most efficient and how to verify the test results.
When it’s finally time to take your warehouse automation system in production use, the first thing is called migration. In migration phase you migrate all required data from your existing system to your new system. Migration planning should be started early enough, latest when you start the system tests. Well planned migration can save huge amount of time during the migration itself. Typically all your operations have to be halted for the migration period so time saved in migration pays itself back. During the first weeks of operations you’ll identify problems that weren’t discovered during the tests. Having enough resources for analyzing the root cause of the problem and managing the fix process with your supplier is essential at this phase.
How can Trivion help logistics companies in developing their warehouse automation system?
Your operations and volumes may have grown over the years and your system fails to deliver enough capacity more and more often. Sytems performance can be enhanced in many different ways. In most cases the best results are achieved by implementing several small modifications in different areas instead of implementing one large scale modification in one part of your system or operations.
Implementing changes in operative system requires experience which may not be available in your own organization. Trivion can manage the whole implementation phase or support your organization in selected areas.
